3 Sermon Notes
I.
To allow God to work in unexpected ways, we must let go of our expectations of timing and our pride.
Time is the constraint of a specific timeline for God's plans. By releasing this expectation, we can find peace in the present moment, trusting in God's perfect timing.
Pride is the belief that we know better than God. It hinders our ability to accept God's will and to embrace new possibilities.
When we eliminate these two things, we can experience disappointment without bitterness. Instead of a dead end, disappointment can become a doorway to something greater. By letting go of our preconceived notions, we create space for something better to emerge.

While you are in transition, all kinds of inner pain and insecurity break through. We're forced to confront the person we present to the world while simultaneously grappling with our true identity.
Thankfully, worship bridges the gap between where I want to be and where I am. And grace fills the space between who we are and who we're destined to become.

Feelings of inadequacy and insecurity are normal; it makes you human. Any time we do something that's unfamiliar to us, we automatically feel disorientation.
If you wait till you're good before you start, you’ll never start anything. You have to suck at something, and you have to get over the fact that you suck in order to learn. We want to come out the gate with our good instead of coming out of the gate with our God.

I.
“Perfectionism destroys potential.
Perfectionism cares more about the security of your reputation than the progress of your self. When you pursue perfectionism you’re looking at your reputation vs your progress. What will they think vs how much you’ve grown.” — Mike McClure

“Over 22 years there were so many moments where I thought this was it and I wasn’t even ready. I thought I was but I wasn’t. Now, this is it, and God caught me off guard. I didn’t know this was it, but I am ready. I feel more calm because he worked through me to get me to where I am now.
God blew my mind, but the moment didn’t blow my mind. God did all this work inside of you to get here and have peace so that you can’t be moved by what happened. I’m thankful for it, but now I understand that I’m supposed to be here.
How am I thinking something was going to happen because I wasn’t even my true self? Now that I’m free, I can enjoy this moment.” — Tabitha Brown

God — what do you know about me that I’m still struggling to lay hold of?
